The University of Florida General Education Program includes approximately 500 undergraduate courses in the program areas of composition, humanities, mathematics, biological science, physical science, and social and behavioral science, with many of these courses also having an international focus. Approximately 400 general education courses are offered in a typical fall or spring semester.
Existing general education courses are periodically evaluated for recertification, and new courses are rigorously reviewed for adherence to the policies established by the University of Florida, the General Education Committee and the University Curriculum Committee.
