Programs

Center for Precollegiate Education and Training (CPET)
The Center for Precollegiate Education and Training (UF-CPET) promotes and supports the use of UF facilities and faculty in the preparation and enhancement of science and technology teaching at the secondary education level.

Center for Undergraduate Research (CUR)
The newly created Center for Undergraduate Research will coordinate the large number of research opportunities and services available for UF undergraduates.

HHMI Science for Life
Supported by a grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), the UF Science for Life program provides awards and research opportunities for outstanding undergraduate students beginning the summer after their freshman year at UF.

Honors Program
The Honors Program at the University of Florida attracts academically talented and highly motivated students by providing them with additional opportunities beyond those available to the general student population.

Innovation Academy
The Innovation Academy (IA) is one of the nation’s most forward-looking undergraduate programs – at one of its most dynamic research universities. The Innovation Academy will give students a small-college experience focused on innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, ethics and leadership on a unique spring-summer calendar.

The Innovation Academy undergraduate program consists of five major components including selected majors, integrated innovation minor, co-curricular experiences, attendance in the spring-summer calendar and the Fall Connection online course opportunities.

Office of Academic Support (OAS)
The Office of Academic Support (OAS) provides academic and personal enrichment services for all students at the University of Florida who are interested and would benefit. A primary objective of OAS is to serve students who are first generation, low-income, or from under-represented groups at UF, including, but not limited to, racial and ethnic minorities.

Reserve Officers Training Corps ROTC
The ROTC program provides students a basic military education and development of individual character attributes essential to a professional military officer in the United States Army, Air Force or Navy.

Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program
The McNair Scholars Program is a federally funded program which focuses on getting underrepresented minorities into graduate school through undergraduate research. This program has various tools aimed at making the McNair scholar the ideal graduate school candidate.

Upward Bound
Upward Bound is a college preparatory program at the University of Florida that helps high school students develop skills and motivation to succeed in college and professional careers.

Research Opportunities for Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate research provides opportunities for students to engage faculty, graduate students, postdocs to discover and define scholarly interests. Research experiences can assist you in evolving ideas and deciding your future career path.

University Scholars Program
The University Scholars Program introduces undergraduate students at the University of Florida to the exciting world of academic research. In the Program, students work one-on-one with UF faculty on selected research projects. Through this initiative, students will take away an understanding of and appreciation for the scholarly method. The University Scholars Program serves as an exceptional capstone to the academic careers of UF students.
